It's okay. Takes itself more seriously than 2, actually tried to be a gangsta game. In some ways it looks better than 2 though, with a lot of clothing options having physics. But I remember the way of unlocking missions was a bit of a pain in the ass.

It has some unique features that didn't carry over to 2, like stores closing at night so you can break into them and rob their safes. You also could call up a driver who would follow your directions as you rode passenger. It's worth playing but still gets completely overshadowed by 2.

Never reset a mission so many times in a saints row game than that hijacking activity level that involves stealing a rollers vehicle on the highway, you either get vaporized by bullets or are completely cucked if you have a shitty vehicle or lose speed.
Then you have to make sure not to blow up the car you've been shooting at the entire time on the way to the garage. Still managed to beat it though.
