I thought everyone mostly got tired of bog standard Metroidvanias in the 2010s. Are Hollow Knight fans all just those Redditors who claim nothing respects their time and pick one game that they play an hour a week for half a year?

they are metroid-likes
to be a proper metroidvania would require a repertoire of gear, abilities, and rpg stats get added to the game.
