I'm a man so I play male characters and avoid games that do not allow me to do so.

If I can choose, I choose male unless the male character has especially unpleasant design, otherwise I don't really care.

If it's supposed to be a stand-in for myself like Pokémon, I play male because they're my Pokémon. Or Animal Crossing, for example. They are my animal friends. If it some medieval fantasy like Skyrim, I'll play female because the character is not me.

I do see the appeal of getting upskirts on female characters when it’s forced on you in my weeb action games like Ninja Gaiden though. It has to be designed with the intention of sexual appeal for the male player though ever

Females tend to have better stats. they're faster and have better reaction to my inputs. DPS is always the best way to play video games
