Eh. Story and dialogue are among the last things I care about in these games.

I can only envision an Elden Ring movie in two ways.
A prequel leading up towardsw the fracture, following the different key players that played part in it happening.
Or we get to follow the events of the actual game, except the tarnished that is player-character in-game isn't the view-point character in the movie, and only shows up at a distance or at key moments while we see the world through the perspectives of everyone else.

What I hope is that the movie ends up being a prequel, exploring the dynamics of Marika's family before the Shattering. Having characters like Godwyn, Radahn, Marika and Radagon actually talk would be great to see. Movie could actually explain or elaborate on why the fuck Marika did the thing that resulted in the thing.

If it actually ends up being canon is a subjective thing anyway - if it sucks ass, it's not canon, if it's good it's canon, it's how these things work.

What I'm really worried about isn't really story but costumes, makeup and casting choices. A24 doesn't have Lord of the Rings budget and trying to make a live action movie that is this high fantasy and make it look good is going to be a struggle.
