Salt and Sanctuary is great but doesn't have ability based exploration and so is not really the same. The sequel is bad though.

Fusion is the worst Metroid along Dread, Iconoclast has a decent start but it just keep getting worse the more you progress, which is the opposite of The Messenger, that I though it would be awful and it just keep getting better and ends with the best stage of the game.

Aria of Sorrow and Zero mission on slop tier is just bait, no one can have such an awful opinion.

Has no one ITT played Monsterboy and the Cursed Kingdom? I thought it was pretty great even if the aesthetic was childish. Definitely a solid B+ tier game. If it wasn't so short it would be much higher on the ranking. If you like Metroidvanias that lean more towards the puzzle side of things it is among the best.

I played it when I was 12 in the 2000s, after having played Super and the GBA games, and still loved it. It has such a unique atmosphere. Playing it in the dark of night under my bedsheets on my GBA SP was quite spooky.
