Question for both gacha players and gacha haters: has any gacha game actually introduced a genuinely fun/interesting game mechanic? Something that you would have liked to see built into a different, non-gacha for example.

I liked Granblue's weapon grid system. It was a good fit for the grindathon that game was. One of the few gacha games where you actually felt like you were progressing. Getting your first magna 1 grid, then slowly being able to build out grids for every element, then getting weapons for different kinds of fights like one-shotting bosses in GW to having more sustain for some of the tougher fights. I dreamed one day Cygames would do a MMO taking place in the Granblue universe, and the weapon grid would be more of a team synergy thing where everyone's weapon/gear would contribute to the group's overall power and allow for different synergies.

if only the gacha money wasn't so good and mmos weren't so risky and resource intensive

From what I've seen gacha games are basically like those japanese games that would come out in the PS3 (maybe PS4) era, do middling sales and be on Amazon for $20 less than a year after release only now they've made the girls hotter and cut the game up into chunks giving you the first part for free and doling out the rest of it bit by bit while you pay for things like characters and weapons but you can't just pay directly, you have to literally gamble too.

i am not sure if i understood your question, but anyway, RUNNING, i guess is very unique that the main element is just running and i really like seeing the Umas run, i just feel really excited when i see them dash and barely win, like, thats the product of my work, and the effort of the trainee who placed her trust in me

Arknights is one of the best tower defense games I've played because the units you get are random and the units you get and level determine how you can best solve stages
I think in just about every other td game all players have the same options so solutions are often very similar

It'd be hard to transfer it to an actual game, but Tales of Link had a system where if you connected 4 heal units in one turn, the next unit who'd come up would be guaranteed to proc their skill instead of using a basic attack or relying on RNG to proc the skill. Really good for shit like if the skill would heal your party's HP or delay the enemy's turn.

Not really. The only reason I try gacha is because they sort of scratch that Japanese AA feel that's been dead since 2006. I play it for a few months then get bored because there's no end and being F2P is miserable.

Yes, and I literally started playing Honkai Star Rail because of those. I don't play any other gacha game and don't intend to, I'm not a "gacha player" and never was.

I'd love to see another turn-based game with so much kit variety and style. I love the game despite being gacha, but it does suffer a fuck ton in quality because of it.
