>favorite supcom clone
any good ones? Supcom1 is unsurpassed for me
>Planetary Anh.
its okay with titans, but its more of a Total Annihilation clone than a supcom clone and I prefer the slower, strategic nature of supcom than the herp a derp speed of TA, which feels a bit more like command and conquer to me.
>BaR
havent played it, but again it looked like a TA clone over a SC clone and still had the CPM sim gameplay im not in the mood for
I like the ability to turtle up with powerful, useful defences while you build an army so that you can smash the toys together with a massive scale battle, while spending time planning little excursions and fights around the map before hand securing turf and hunkering down.
Supcoms defences being good lets you not have to micro everything so hard, and lets the game last until those epic battles
same way I loved planetside, where you spend 40 mins in base doing nothing while the team gathers, then get a 72 hour 3-way 6000 man battle over one fucking sector, kino gameplay IMO
I dont mind TA and its clones, but I find because defences suck and are just there to help a bit, and shields suck or dont exist, youre forced to micro units all the time and that means battles are geared to rushing them down and ending the game in short time so you dont get to have those massive, incredible fights.
modern games optimised the downtime out of them, but while that 40 min of nothing in planetside was 'boring' it facilitated the amazing, life long memory that followed.
Being able to surprise the enemy on a massive battle with a super unit you managed to hide, sniping out their defences and playing a war general was what I loved so much about supcom, I dont want speed.
