It was fun when I was 9yo

same, I played it again as an adult since it rereleased on every platform and it was a much worse command & conquer with humor for kids

Hard carried by being made by Bitmap Brothers back then, but it was never a particularly good game

C&C had much more going for it. Z had far less strategy or creative input from the player due to its autobuild system which essentially makes it a pressure based tug-o-war. You just had to tell the units where to go. It was simple to get into, which was a plus.

you're disadvantaged against the cpu because they can issue commands all over the map instantly and simultaneously
but they aren't particularly smart

Is Z the only RTS where the drivers of vehicles can be killed and you can steal enemy vehicles?

you also forgot rng there
you could lose your heavy tank to a light one just because the light or medium managed to dodge every hit. Also same thing could happen to you aka surviving similar encounter due to sheer luck. It was a lot of savescumming back then to check which units send to which flag first and then roll rng to win every fight at the flag

Think we had a shareware version when I was a kid, pretty sure I also played a ton of this around the same time.
