I feel like a lot of people will be underwhelmed. If you read between the lines in that developer interview, they're basically saying "We had no deadlines and no one to tell us no" which, I expect, is going to translate to a bloated mess of a game.

Maybe I'm wrong but I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out that way.

I'm not expecting it to be a level of good that commensurate to the length of development time. Something obviously happened during development that cause major delays. I never built up my hype in the first place. So I don't really care. The new trailer looks nice. The world is lively with many NPCs. I dig that. And Hornets movement looks like it will make both fighting and platforming interesting. So I'm excited in the normal amount. Not in the ridiculous amount you all are.

Hollow Knight was an okay Metroidvania indie title. The sequel has spent years in development hell by the look of it, the community made funny memes and jokes haha skong etc etc, now there's ungodly pressure built around this.
