My Summer Car is an in depth car mechanic game with a frustratingly boring life sim part tacked on. It looks more fun than it actually is
>but it being tedious and irritating on purpose is part of the fun!
It fucking isn't. It's a shame as the car stuff is very good and taught me about engines, but the rest of it is just pointlessly shit.

why don't you try one of the car mechanic simulator games instead? it'll at least help you identify the parts and teach you the way they're assembled / connected to each other.

It will show you the basics of how an old carbureted engine works, also the fault states of the car are pretty well modelled, so you'll probably learn some diagnostics as well.
But it's more of a life-sim set in the 90's Finnish countryside with a pretty in-depth car ownership simulation tacked onto it.
My Winter Car is also coming soon, within 3-4 months, it'll be even more in-depth and even more of a project car ownership life-sim since you don't start with any parts or even the chassis of the project car at the start and the car will have way more parts it'll need and that can break.

You don't want to become a mechanic. The pay is shit and all the tools you use you pay for out of pocket.

It'll probably be earlier than christmas since he said he doesn't want to leave the release to the last moment, october or november maybe?
He said if he doesn't release it by the end of the year, he will release it for free as an expansion for MSC you can access from the games folder, but with no future updates.
So he has quite a lot riding on this timeframe, I doubt he is going to want to give at least 5-6 years worth of dev time out for free.

it'll give you a basic understanding of how much older cars function and go together
it's cool in a "very simplified science project for children" kind of way
so you feel like you're learning some shit
the game is also just really good

Highly realistic simulation of rural life in Finland.
Anonymous No.719242523 [Report]

most of the skill in mechanics is trying to figure out how to undo stuck bolts, tracking down wiring problems, and lining up the clockwork. none of which is addressed in MSC or Mechanic Simulator.
I guess it teaches you what everything does and where the parts go.

Everything coming out of finland somehow manages to be kino.
Anonymous No.719242892 [Report]
It is incomplete. Parts are too simple, like the drum breaks being just a single part, Same with the carbs.
If you go from my summer car to an irl shitbox you will suffer. You wont learn everything you need.
You cant even snap bolts.

A lot of them are very cute, but very many tend to go to seed around 30 years old.
Also, quite a lot of obesity not morbidly so, but still obese and cider whales in the ranks of the 20 somethings.
Pic related, a cute finn

You shouldn't, no matter how long you study it for, people will only laugh at the way you speak it or just have a hard time understanding what you're saying.
My advice would be to actually get fluent in english since everyone worth talking to here speaks it.
Oh, and if you're anything other than caucasian, asian or hispanic, you should stay away because your stay here would not be a pleasant one.

Depends on what you're looking for, but I wouldn't advice staying inside circle 3 (pic related) and especially staying away from Helsinki unless you just want to see a bunch of immigrants and woke stuff, might be cool for a quick visit for some of the architecture but I wouldn't center my whole trip around the places.
Most of the cities here are really small but I'd probably recommend Tampere or Turku, Turku moreso if you're interested in seeing some older city areas and whatnot, Tampere has a pretty cool museum with an extensive vidya section and an active nightlife.
Jyväskylä is also pretty cool, but it's quite far away from everything else, it's a student city so mostly younger people live there, not a lot to do though, especially if you don't have a car.
The charm of the country really comes from the smaller towns which there are too many to mention and the lakes, woods and whatnot attached to them, but if that's not your jam the cities I already mentioned might be more your speed.
Best time to visit is obviously going to be during the summer, winters here are more or less torture and we take it out on everyone, people get real pissy and anti-social.

i'm somewhat on the older side i doubt i would enjoy Helsinki or a university town. forest and lakes, getting shitfaced in the middle of nowhere while trying to fish sounds more like my wavelength

Well in that case you might just want to look up some cheap cottage you could rent out in the woods that is moderately close to a town, get the true finnish summer experience.
I think you would like Ruovesi, but it does have quite a lot of cottage tourists during the summer despite being a smaller town.

filtered bc its a car company rpg but you actually have to think about the specs of the engines you build and how the car body is styled, which is unfun bc i dont like thinking. they should have a already made car company with cars and refine the already prebuilt cars. but thats also gay bc now youre barely doing anything other than look at sales graphs and move headlights 5 inches
