I think that by choosing to work for a company where the contract said they could cyborg him, he DID ask for it.

>Adam going on a huge spiel about how technology is bad and we need to keep hold of our humanity

Brotherman.
The game would've finished at the intro if you didn't have tech to rebuild you. The illuminati would've succeeded. Even if by some miracle you survived, the cyborg PMC motherfuckers would've absolutely mauled your fleshbag ass if you weren't modded.
Who the fuck wrote this shit? I don't think I've seen an ending that's more at odds with the actual story.

it was a good albeit console-ized iteration that still felt like deus ex. certainly did it better than invisible war. the only sticking point really is that it kept to tradition of all these games in having a really rushed final act and ending. haven't played mankind divided but its apparently far worse on that front.
>>719234618
that's the fag choice, the best choice is blowing up the whole facility where no one gets what they want. also most canon.

Deus Ex is the sci-fi series that real life is most coming to resemble. Obviously there are differences with the specifics, and the Deus Ex timeline is way sped up, but we're well on the way to living in that universe.

Except without the cool cybernetics. You can wear sunglasses and trenchcoats indoors though, the style is a bit 00s, but I think you can still pull it.

The main thing I disliked about HR was that you unlock all upgrades not even halfway into the game and then it's like the devs suddenly realized it, and take away all your points and slowly give them back to make it feel like your progress didn't completely stop halfway through.

Don't know about seen, but I've heard about a bunch of test animals tortured and left to die from brain hemorrhages. Neuralink is never going to be viable, direct link to the brain is impossible because of neuroplasticity and the fact the technology can't self adjust. Best you can do is implant an EEG in the skull.

Installation caused lethal brain hemorrhage in most cases, not fast either, slow. Some successes, but these are not long term studies and brains have an annoying tendency to rewire themselves over time, to say nothing of cellular replacement over a decade. EEG net integrated in the skull seems like it'd be a safer way to go, but vulnerable to interference from EM fields, better than EM fields scrambling signals going to and from your brain direct though.

A game that isn't boring AAA shit, where you are allowed to use weapons, the levels aren't tiny corridors, and the abilities don't suck

Just make a Deus Ex game instead of trying to force Deus Ex into Assassin's Creed and Gears of War.

My headcanon is that Ghost Recon Breakpoint was the sequel to Mankind Divided. Chapters 1 and 2 dive into techno conspiracies about the new world order and even touch upon transhumanism. But then Chapter 3 and Conquest just go back β€œoh lmao it was all the russians all along” and the whole futurist plot is just abruptly chucked out the window. Maybe one day I’ll transcend into the alternate dimension where Breakpoint stuck with its futurist sci-fi story past Chapter 2

this
the gameplay is complete asscrack and the only thing it has going for it is the 'non-linear missions' which are literally just standard procedure on any non shit modern game

>but it was groundbreaking then!!
i don't care, because we're not back then
a game is either shit or it isn't

you can play the thief series today and enjoy it just as much as you did back when it came out because it's a superbly designed game
this is the case for many old games
and it is not the case for deus ex, which sucks

a lot of so called 'classics' are pure shit, like the original fallouts or morrowind, they were just groundbreaking at the time

if a game is only good because it's 'groundbreaking', guess what, it's probably a shit game, people just didn't have anything better to compare it to

Jensen's injuries required him to:
>have one arm fully amputated
>cranial reconstruction around bullet wound to skull
>torso reconstruction from being hurled through inches thick glass and a security wall falling on him (ironically saved his life)
Jensen received, because Sarif is a transhumanist and knew he had the magic aug genes:
>both arms amputated
>both legs amputated at the knees
>both eyes replaced
>social and hacking augs implanted into his brain
>artifical heart, artificial lungs, augs bolted onto his spine (slowfall and reflex booster)
>artificial skin across what's left of his body (cloaking and dermal armor)
>experimental and military grade augments designed solely to kill people (arm blades, typhoon)

Jensen didn't get the augments he needed to survive, he got all the augments David Sarif could fit into a single human being before his own staff objected to it because David Sarif was using him as just another experiment and a nigh-fetishistic transhuman fantasy fulfillment.

Sarif's kind of an asshole to work for. You can read the email between him and his lawyer about how far the surgery went and he brushes off the idea of Jensen bringing legal action with "nah we saved his life it's cool but if he does we've got the contract". Plus Sarif Industries is pretty much the only major biotech firm that isn't being swept up by TYM and who wants to work for a Chinese monopoly?
