if you want something you build it yourself. there an alternative way to live outside of society even know you golem.
if you live remotely enough you can even build your own house and no one will ever bother you or check for permits (which is just money extraction with extra steps)

The answer to the first two questions is fish. They also sell scrimshaw. From the fish.
They're big on fish.

>Yes, but they have food.
They have welfare. Peasant villagers are self-sustaining, but I do not see farms, nor crops, so their only source of food is either eating fish 24/7, or trading, and their only commodity would be prostitution.

This is a pretty well designed village overall with logical elements and believable structure

My main concern is the big temple building, keeping that thing not-freezing-cold must be a nightmare, especially with those big windows and shit. But maybe they have some blessing of Tempus that prevents cold or some shit

No. There is something so replayable about them despite how linear they are. I wish the Infinity Engine got the Neverwinter Nights treatment with infinite modules. There's one youtuber who literally made his channel just based around replaying BG 1 and 2 over and over again along with guides. Despite how simple and straightforward they are when it comes to character customization, there is some kind of high deep depth when it comes to the mechanics

What is the difference between EE and Original? Does it affect the balance? Is the dragon eye and snake cult temple still ridiculously hard while the rest of the game is a breeze in the original?

Nope. There's something about the game engine and gameplay and atmosphere that causes me to become obsessive over this game every year or so

They added/changed a bunch of magic items and also ported kits and most spells from BG2, so the balance is different
>Is the dragon eye and snake cult temple still ridiculously hard while the rest of the game is a breeze in the original?
Lower Dorn's Deep is harder because they added a boss that resurrects every time you sleep and follows you through area transitions until you kill the idol in the undead room, but yeah Dragon's Eye is still a huge difficulty spike in the middle of the game.

Every town in Icewind Dale is tiny. Neverwinter is the biggest in the north, but it's south of Icewind Dale.
