ship building is super cool and well done. however, after doing that and going to a few planets its just the same shit over and over still. no reason to gather resources or make money for older saves. the terrain generation is better but still not that interesting, it's so fucking boring

people check the new content, realize there's no reason to do anything after and stop playing. there's a lot of things to do but they have no meaning, repeatable stuff has no meaning, there's no long term goals in this game. there's no endgame. the concept of making your own endgame through adventure is a failure

NMS' problem is people simply wanting it to be something it's not. All the patches in the world make it pull a 180 and become that space RPG you wanted it to be.
planets are far too simple. they dont feel like planets, just one simple map with random building spawns that come from a relatively small pool of possibilities, same with monsters and everything else that spawns in, when planet terrain generation and spawnables are predictable there's no reason to explore.

is there a game with the spaceship building complexity of space engineers while actually being a good survival craft game? I played space engineers and the survival craft part was super bare bones, unfortunately.
