No, it is much worse because of how disappointing it is. It starts ok when the ghostwriter was writing it, and goes to literal shit when he died and hackishi07 couldn't deliver, then even worse when he gets butthurt and despondent and takes a deliberate shit on it.
And the worst of it is, since western trannies are midwits, all of this went over their heads.

Either you care for the answers to the murders and you hate it, or you get captivated in the story and forget all about the murders, focusing on the magic, thus loving it.
I do not think I have seen a single person that actually cared about the mystery say that they loved it. Admittedly it does do a good job at making you forget all about the solutions because you're thinking about the more recent events and happenings.
