Remaster would not change and ruin the assets and gameplay.

They did actually remake the game though, it's just the most pointless high effort remake I've ever seen. It's MGS3 but 1:1 remade in UE5 with MGSV inspired gameplay, they could easily have spent like 20% more effort and made an actual new MGS instead. The only way I can see this making sense is if they already have more MGS planned and they're planning to reuse the work from Delta in it

No, Oblivion is literally running the old game engine underneath, it has the same glitches as original Oblivion and everything. Delta is completely remade in UE5 but is reusing stuff like VO

A remake remakes the assets, a remaster ports the game to another platform with higher resolution graphics. Just because it doesn't do FFVII's epic subversion (which itself also isn't a remake but a sequel), does not make it not a remake. Whether you like it or not is another matter

Why did they re-record Snake Eater?
At first I though they got someone else, but it's still Cynthia Harrell. 20 years later and she's doing a piss poor job.
The original's is bombastic, passionate and expertly performed. She's giving it her fucking all, nothing is held back and it's fantastic. The remake's is Cynthia just singing it. It's reserved and quiet.
