To this day I don't understand *why* they forced you to start as a miner. Makes zero sense. Think about it, a game's intro is the most important as it sets the tone for the rest of the experience. Oblivion has you witnessing Patrick Stewart's assassination at the hands of doomsday cultist assassins. Fallout has you escaping your Vault for the first time and being let go into an irradiated uncharted wasteland. Skyrim has you escaping a crumbling fortress while a dragon is attacking outside.
Starfield, a SPACE GAME, has you starting underground as a miner. Fucking why? Mining is not even an important aspect of the game. To find the artifact? Start me off in a mining vessel in SPACE, so I can look out the window and see SPACE five seconds after starting the game, and put the artifact in the cargo hold. We're approaching a space station to meet with Barret, pirates board us, we're ordered to take the artifact from the cargo hold because it's the only way we'll get paid, the ship is hit which breaks the artifact's container, we touch it, boom. The vessel being blown up to bits would also force us into the Frontier instead of the unbelievably fucking RETARDED INTRO WHERE BARRET JUST GIVES US HIS SHIP FOR NO REASON 5 MINUTES INTO THE GAME AND LIN FORCES US OUT OF OUR MINING JOB HOLY SHIT THIS IS A NEW LOW WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK EMIL.
