What an absolute pile of shit. Seriously the most boring game I've ever played. I beat RDR1 but this shit is just ridiculous with the slow pacing and lack of meaningful content. The world looks gorgeous but there's nothing to do and everything just feels like a chore, including literal fucking chores they added into the game. These little details would be neat if there was any actual depth under the surface but there isn't. Every few months I get curious and reinstall the game seeing if it'll finally click for me, and I just get insanely bored and can't think of anything to do next and uninstall the game. Vanilla, modded, starting from new game or starting from epilogue it doesn't matter, it's just a boring slow shit game and you'd have to be some TV brained mouth breather to enjoy it.

And you haven't even tried the online portion. It is absolutely atrocious but mostly because it has been abandoned for SEVEN YEARS NOW.

Still waiting for someone to mod in dirt bikes and off road vehicles.

I found a shitload of threads online around release time of RDR2 and the threads will be 50/50 split between people calling it genius and others calling it boring as fuck. I think the people calling it genius are just easily amused. In 15 years we'll be looking back at RDR2 and making fun of how primitive and shallow it is.

The biggest issue with the game is that is simply is too damn easy. You don't even need to use special ammo to absolutely demolish anything and anyone that tries to kill you. Isn't helped by the fact that there is no way to increase the difficulty besides gimping yourself.

I do understand the slow pacing argument when it comes to the animation but I never really understand when people say that the beginning is boring.
Maybe that's because I'm a cinephile but it sets the tone of the game so well and sometimes you just want to laid back a little bit and enjoy the world. RDR2 did it 10 times better than any of the Grand Theft Auto in that department. and the story is great.
