The previews have given me a bit of hopium desu.
It won't be the sequel that vtmb fans wanted, but it might still be worth playing.
Especially if Chinese Room/Paradox walk back the day one DLC.

Sloppa barely better than Bloodlines in "gameplay" but vastly inferior in anything that ever mattered. As proven by Skyrim and TES in general, RPGs don't actually need gameplay

- Hunting feels silly (not necessarily a bad thing, could act as reprieve in-between more tense narrative episodes) and simple, but potentially enjoyable. I think it could use a second iteration to complexify and work out some kinks. Will need to see how it ties to leveling proper first.
- Combat looks likely to overstay its welcome, though I do think having fun with silly power combos has potential to stave off the moment.
- Despite the comparisons to Dishonored, no simulationist approach to problem solving, nor systemic gameplay. Apparently can't just avoid enemies through stealth if they're here, you need to dispose of them before moving out. Which means stealth is meant to be a way to complement combat - to stalk preys.
- Levels not designed around interactions - especially not with base verbs. Focus seems placed on spectacle and mood. Interesting set of oppositions between high ground and low ground on the one hand, and main street and back streets on the other, which ties to the combat focused stealth aspect and the hunting minigame.
- Manipulation of narrative elements could prove the main meat of the gameplay. Jury's out till we can actual evaluate how reactive, granular and deep the conversation system happens to be.
All in all, there's decent game in there provided you're willing to play it on its own terms. Which is probably going to be it's toughest challenge. People with justifiably want gameplay more similar to Bloodlines 1.
