The Radeon 9100. Played Half-Life 2 and Doom 3 adequately for being a budget card from 2003, but damn did I wish I had a Radeon 9600 at the very least back then.

Not a GPU, but that was the model I had. I had a Diamond Monster 3D for my original Voodoo, though. Had an AGP Diamond Stealth 3D 2000 for 2D stuff. Picrel (tiny, but the only one I could find) was my last pre-GPU card.

You think in the future we'll still have to buy GPUs? I'm imagining AI generation will be the next step and graphic processing for games will just be rendered through those massive data centers in the desert and all we'll need for hardware is M+KB and a monitor at the minimum.

I never had crashes with games, and mine never died. Only changed it for a 3090 Ti because of the Stable Diffusion bullshit. Probably wouldn't have needed a new one if that had worked from the beginning.

Not including integrated graphics (which would be an ATI Rage LT Pro in a PowerBook G3), it was an ATI Radeon HD 5570 1GB GDDR3. It cost me $50 brand new and allowed me to play just about everything I wanted. That in a pre built E7500 Core 2 Duo system running Windows Vista was my real introduction to PC gaming.

this piece of shit. i was a dumb kid and didnt know how to look up reviews/benchmarks. luckily it played everything i needed it to, shadows of the empire, xwing v tie fighter ,rogue squadron. my first real gpus were voodoo banshee or geforce 2 gts.

Based. The PCI version was slower than the AGP one but still held up like a champ for late 90s gaming. I remember booting up Unreal Tournament on mine and thinking graphics would never get better than that. Had to fight IRQ conflicts with the sound card like some kind of early tech knight.

GT 9600 512MB. Asus passive model, no noise was nice.

Radeon 7950. came with Donte may cry, tomb raider reboot, and hitman absolution.

I played tf2 on an HD 4870 and picrel for more than a decade.

my first desktop handmedown widows xp computer with a geforce 6200 i used throughout the early 2010s. it did alright with like high 20s/low 30s fps on games like TF2, CS source, combat arms, torchlight 2, san andreas, wow private servers. browsed /v/ on that thing too
