So that could potentially open the door for doing something with Final Fantasy Tactics Advance or A2, or maybe even sequels and new titles as well. I think I speak for everyone who’s worked on the original Final Fantasy Tactics, and is working on The Ivalice Chronicles as well — we’d really like to see that happen.

What sequel can they make? The entire conciet of FFT is that it is a discovered secret chronical written by Durai that tells the tale what actually occured during the Fifty Year War instead of the official narative that is passed down by the state and church. If there was anything else to tell it would have been told in his Chronical. If it is something that takes place after the chronical was recovered why even bother making it a sequel since it would have to take place several centuries after the events and everyone (except maybe the robot and dragon lady) would be long dead and the government built up by Delita would have either collapsed or become entrenched. At that point you may as well just make a new setting. Like fuck if you want to use the battle systems and alla that bullshit just make a story about the land of reeds or the burning continent. Ivalice has already been raped to fuck and back, give it a rest and move onto a new story.

I bought the Pixel Remasters day 1.
Did I get a new turn based lo-fi Final Fantasy game? Nope, we got Final Fantasy 16.
Square Enix will say whatever it takes to get sales and then act shocked when Fatlus and the French eat their lunch.

I bought the Tactics Ogre port, Triangle Strategy, and I'll likely get the FFT port as well. I'd be okay with them making more strategy RPGs.

It involves Ramza and his party leaving Ivalice to Ordallia, the country the Fifty Year War was set, to aid the growing resistance against the corrupt nobility with rumors that Delita is going to send troops into Ordallia to end the rebellion.

If a FFT2 is going to be made it is most likely going to be about this.

I think for most Ogre/FFT fans it shaved off a bit too many edges to make it great. But for all the people coming from FE, I think it's a perfect introductory to that side of SRPGs...........had they not frontloaded the story with the most stale and safe beginning imaginable. It was the GOAT for 20 years. Nothing came close. In 2017 Divinity Original Sin 2 came out and beat it. Since than its now pretty dated.
TRPGs are awesome but there is much better modern stuff. It be a good place to start but I'd pirate it, and know if you dont like it to try somthing newer.

It's really more like no big publishers outside of Nintendo gives a shit which is why Nintendo has such a weirdly high win rate in the strategy genre at video game awards shows thanks to Fire Emblem(and Pikmin). Everything else is poverty shit like Disgaea. Helll, until the 3DS Fire Emblem started doing insane numbers, the record for best selling SRPG WAS Final Fantasy Tactics. Could you imagine an entire genre going through the sixth gen and the HD/blockbuster era and a sales record still standing from the 5th gen?
If Final Fantasy Tactics does well it's not because of sudden burgeoning interest in the genre. Certainly not, the FFT gameplay format is the most widespread one in strategy RPGs and only recently have Fire Emblem clones started closing the gap, it's because it's got the Final Fantasy name and its story has given it legendary status. Hell, when most people's living memory of the last two decades of Final Fantasy has been shit like 13, 15 and 16, a good Final Fantasy being playable on modern machinery will probably move units just for the novelty.
