So is the Call of Duty movie going to have an actual plot like the Black Ops games? Or is it just going to be random bullshit happening and then every once in a while Captain Price or Ghost just stand perfectly in the center of the camera's focus and mumble or grunt something vaguely profound for people to clip and spread on tiktok?

They've been trying to get this off the ground since the original MW/Black Ops days, but too much of "studio is making a video game movie" is basically somebody gobbling up the rights and then sitting on it forever because nobody serious wants to associate themselves with it, or doing ashcan shit like that straight-to-DVD Doom movie or all the recent garbage RE live action productions just to keep the rights.
But after Mario made well over a billion dollars at the box office and Minecraft stopped just short of a billion, studios are probably now taking this seriously since there's real money to be made if people actually give a shit about the IP and powers that be are convinced it could be the next gold rush as superhero movies stagnate and China closes off its market.
