I like doing trophies if they're fun but a lot of them are dumb like being tied to (sometimes dead) multiplayer or anything involving missable content.

Because a lot of this board is filled with salty Tendies that are jealous of Playstation owners who actually get trophies and they dont.
Because besides the bog standard progress and difficulty ones, the majority of them are grind or max things out. And then there's the MP only ones.
Very few of them are specific challenges. Even then, a lot of those are random chance/circumstance that people will look up and do once for it and then never do again.
Play more isn't the same as replay value.

Based take. Half this board can’t finish a game unless it’s got waifu gacha or a skip button. The moment a game asks for something beyond spamming dodge rolls and watching cutscenes, they tap out. Achievements are just another filter, and filtered they were.

they expose that /v/ both doesn't play any games and is terrible at the games they do play.
I do like trophies/cheevos but the direction they've taken to just stupid skinner box bullshit instead of actual completion/challenging accomplishments is disappointing, to the point where most games don't even have difficulty related trophies, and even if they do... accessibility settings have basically killed them as you can essentially enable cheats and still earn all trophies, what a joke

It's good to learn that there are 60% of assholes who claim to have beat a game actually haven't, and might not have even gotten past the first boss.

I don't hate them. They can be enjoyable. But like anything, they can be questionable. Having stuff tied to anything that's only multiplayer, multiplayer, and things of that nature, when for everyone that's not viable, servers are gone, etc. That's kind of lame. If it's an online only game or something, it's understandable, but if it's a game with a single player component, then everything should be available on that.

Most games don't even have achievements for finishing the game. On the rare case they do, it's not difficulty dependent. So you are good to go on very easy mode.
They only exist to lock you into an ecosystem. I was a big achievement addict and then Xbox went to shit but I refused to move to PC for so long because I didn't want to lose my "gaming career".
And then I realized I cared more about my "gaming career" rather than playing the games I want on the device I want.
Achievements are trash. >get good
I'll stay casual thanks.
I like going for the ones that actually make you think outside the box and do very specific feats. Thoughever, I do have a bunch of "grindy" ones as well. https://psnprofiles.com/pills4louis

/v/ hates people who go through the game to collect the trophies and move to the next game immediately afterwards, rather than continuing to play and master the game
>has finished and platinumed every souls game from fromsoft >even the original dark souls and the remaster >even the original dark souls 3 and SotFS edition >only one left is Sekiro >could never find the right time to buy it since it never goes on sale >move back home across the country >find stuff of old box brother never threw out >find a copy of Sekiro still sealed in the plastic in box >apparently I bought it once burning Black Friday a long time ago and just never opened it and forgot about it >they announced Sekiro anime a few days later
It’s a sign, guys. The universe is telling me I have to platinum Sekiro and complete the list.

Only recently got a PS5 and the DeS remake. Got other stuff that's interesting me more. I have 67% of trophies in the original DeS and that's all that matters to me.

i like em
gotta do 3 for the based game (buy every car, devil ending, find all tarot cards ]
for DLC (King of Wands)
Once done, I have wanted to100% Resident Evil 7

Why do you hate them? It’s a great way to chronicle your gaming achievements, I can still see dates and times for trophies I got back in 2008. Can you even remember what you played 10 years ago?

I'm trying to 100% stuff that's install files are taking up too much space. Still need to finish 100%ing Rebirth, GoW, and Gundam Battle Fairy Code. Everything else is either single digit GB or less.

I wish I could have stuck with PDX but having to keep replaying songs I didn't even like just to get random presents that the characters like-- even with a guide-- was so mind-numbingly retarded. I want another PD game without a faggy story mode, just give me the diva room and an in-game currency shop to buy the items they like, just like the good old days.
If you stay on Playstation and never play anything off of Playstation ever that might be interesting I suppose.
There are too many good games to get to. I am satisfied with completing the main story and all sidequests on hard. I can think of nothing more unappealing than consulting a collectables guide or joining a "boosting lobby" with other faggots or whatever new level of shitty busywork task pops up.
>>719689457
No one is forcing you to do that. I only platinum games if it’s realistically doable and I’m enjoying myself through the process as if it’s bonus content
>>719689441 >X
Never played that one, but I heard it was bad except for the song selection.
>tfw thanks to X flopping they stopped doing new Project Diva games >then comes the gachashit game and buries it
All hope is lost. Crossing my fingers we get something for Miku's 20th anniversary
