Wrong. https://www.gematsu.com/2022/12/sonic-frontiers-sales-top-2-5-million
And that's an article of December 2022, nowadays its total sales have surpassed 4 million copies worldwide. If you want to talk about Sonic games ''no on played'' we would have to talk about Sonic Shuffle, Sonic Battle or Sonic Triple Trouble but a hyperbolic statement like that isn't ftting for Sonic Frontiers.

They quite literally put a Counterdrift gadget that only works if you snake, so yeah it's probably intended. Doesn't mean they will stay as is, though.

Idk but it feels fucking satisfying as hell to pull off in this game, granted I tried a lot of builds in the Open Network test and that not even close to all of the gadgets that will be in the game.

I don't see how it isn't intentional with the mechanics clearly designed around it
It's remniscant of Kartrider, and raises the skill ceiling on straight by a mile

There's enough skills that can't fit into a single build for there to be options based on preference. Some will use Collision Boost, some will use Quick Recovery, some will use Quick Charge 1 and 2, some will use Counterdrift, some will use Spin Drift, some will use Air Trick Expert, and so on. All of these are good and none really invalidate the alternatives.
I hope driving normally is reasonably competitive online. I really hated trying to snake while assholes push my shit in left and right. I say this as someone that ran Lv1+2 Quick Charge and Quick Recovery
The game clearly provides a pretty decent breadth of playstyles but in about a week of gameplay all the shitters who demand to be first an equal share of the time will notice how one playstyle is clearly more rewarding and seethe about it for the rest of the games lifespan
I left my game open when the servers went down on ps5 and i'm currently practicing time trails. I got 2:13.298 on E Stadium abusing the hell out of counter drift charge.

The playtests were fun but plagued with network issues, which if carry through to the main game will be damning
The game is also incredibly zoomerpilled, with shit constantly happening on screen and the track and soundtrack switching every 30 seconds
It also has an issue where backing out of some menu's is simply impossible, which is incredibly annoying, and probably done intentionally to keep you racing

I was struggling for the longest time to break 2:16 before realizing that chasing rings at 100 wasn't in any way worth it compared to just taking the tightest line
The S ranks definitely make you sweat
Also what's the deal with not being able to compete with friends, or did I just not see that feature
>>719693416 >but plagued with network issues
I played the ONT for a good amount of time and I never had any network issues aside from the occasional boot back to the main menu during lobby searches. Once I was able to get into a race it worked without issue (unless you count Brazilian Shadow players on wi-fi teleporting everywhere as an issue).

You can download other racers ghosts and view their runs when the beta was running. Can't now though. No one on my friends list bothered with time trails so i don't know.
