It's just a typical reaction to feeling like you lost out on something that's been going on since the dawn of time. I had the same sort of angry reactions when Baren Rivendare's mount dropped in vanilla WoW, I rolled need on it, two other people did, two others rolled greed, and both of them got mad since "It wasn't an item anyone needed, you should've rolled greed on it!"

Don't feel bad about it, if you didn't roll need, someone else would've and then you'd be stuck holding the bag too.

It depends on the group that you're in. Sometimes it's need every BoE and bag, sometimes it's greed. Just wait a moment before you roll.

I subbed retail WoW again after having it played last in Shadowlands for a short while, which was atrocious except for the layout of Revendreth which I enjoyed and now I finished the Waking Shores and the first few quests of the Ohn'ahran plains.
Dragonflight overall is pretty comfy and enjoyable and skyriding is fun but holy shit, even though I knew how bad the state of Blizzard is these days with all the terrible screenshots and webms that get posted in the daily mmo flamewars here, the fucking red reddit dragonflight and centaurs are complete shit and I even though I know that in War Within the crippled Arathor descendant and wheelchair Khadgar are waiting for me, I just hope that they tone down the gay shit, I'm sick of rescuing animals in distress, let me fucking kill shit already.
It's a shame you can't even ignore/skip stuff you don't wanna see because Blizzard decided to voice every cringe encounter for muh cinematic experience and the adhd riddled players that can't be bothered to read more than a few lines of text.

Loot etiquette always varies wildly depending on how retarded and brown a server's playerbase is. If you find yourself on one of those private servers where everyone just rolls need on literally everything they can you know you're wasting your time.

Not that Anon and I agree with you, most mmos are for kikes. And if it's not kikery through other players it'll be kikery through microtransactions like in korean games where you can break your gear when trying to upgrade but there's an item in the cash shop to conveniently prevent the item from breaking.
MMOs have been dead since the end of dark age of camelot, warhammer online and planetside 1, it's time to move on.
