People will blame Trump but the prices already weren't gonna come down without the tarrifs anyway. The PS5 was severely underpriced at launch, so they're still probably selling the thing at a loss. Sony can only sustain selling their consoles at a massive loss for so long, we already saw that with the PS5 pro price, being way above the PS4 pro.

Reality is Sony was only selling at a loss to kill Xbox. They succeeded in killing Xbox so now they stop selling at a loss. PS6 will be 700 dollars.

Why would anyone expect Sony to sell at a loss forever? What point is there in even selling consoles just to lose money on them? They'd be better off leaving the industry entirely. It's like all the idiots defending Xbox game pass, because it's dirt cheap, no shit tard they're trying to get you in so they can double the price later.

PC gaming is absolutely not more expensive. First of all, you don't have to pay an online fee, or buy overpriced controllers. Games are also cheaper or free (piracy). And you kind of just need a computer in general so you might as well get one that can play games. Old consoles were using hardware outdated by several years on launch. PS2 had a 300mhz 13 million transistor CPU, meanwhile, Pentium 4 was launching at the same time with 3Ghz 60 million transistor CPUs.

Modern consoles are basically equivalent to low-midrange PCs at launch and since CPU/GPU manufacturers have settled into stagnant low single digit performance uplift from generation to generation so they can bilk customers forever, even years later those low-midrange parts are still low-midrange and of comparable performance to the latest shit.

I'm not even sure that's necessary. Gaming laptops have gotten so cheap and offer good performace for a price not much higher than the $700-800 the PS6 is likely to cost. When you factor in paid online a laptop ends up being cheaper over the course of a gen.
