No, no, that's exactly what it is. It's a decent knockoff though, and it has an extra story mode
Right now its biggest claim to fame is being the literal last Shining Force related game, because Sega doesn't what to do with literally any of their IP that aren't Sonic, Yakuza, or Persona

I don't like turn-based JRPGs so my recs are Rune Factory 3 and 4, both Fantasy Life games and all the Xenoblade games. All of them are action RPGs instead.

Go through Flight Plan's catalogue, in honour of their memory.
Everyone on /v/ has played Swordcraft Story, but did you know they made other games too? Like Black/Matrix, and... Summon Night 2. They're fine.

Eternal Poison and Swordcraft Story are their non-generic games so steer clear of those!
