as much as i hate rise and the wirebug shit, Sunbreak was genuinely really good, and has the most fun versions of a lot of weapons, like SnS/IG/GL/DB and gave them a lot more variety in the way they're played, and made their gimmicks more standout (like making the DB more mobile, SnS doesn't just spam shield bash or perfect rush, IG is actually good in the air and had more ways to get extracts, etc)

Shame they went retard mode though and gave half the weapons a wirebug counter move, and gave SA and CB a wirebug move that completely invalidates their gimmick and makes them braindead. Rise did a few things better depending on what you value in MH. Doesn't mean it did them well compared to earlier games, just did them better than World or Wilds. Less cutscene story faggotry and more focus on you just fighting monsters in clearly defined arena-style areas. The load times were also very good in Rise. You could decide on a quest in the guild hall and be in the hunt in 10-15 seconds, which I appreciate. Plenty of shit that Rise did even worse than World or Wilds but if you're being fair you can see aspects of Rise that were a step up from those games.
