So I already got an Xbox One, is it worth buying a Series S just so I can play an upcoming game that my PC can't handle it?

You can install RetroArch if you enable Developer mode. Yes, Saturn and Dreamcast games are playable. Heck I even played PS2 and GC games on it.

I played a little bit of Vermintide 2, which was a little weird playing on console since I've mostly played it on PC. I also played Oblivion Remastered when it released but haven't touched it in a few months. Was waiting for them to fix enchanting on console which I think they did.

Yeah the online will be free, but don't have high hopes of it to be backwards compatible, you might need to rebuy your xbox 360 gens on steam again, but don't worry, it will be extremely cheap anyway.

Cancelled game pass recently because I've already played everything I want to play. Will probably wait 6+ months before I sub again, because maybe they'll totally overhaul the library by then.

I afraid console exclusives are dead for good since the rising cost of game development makes developer have to go the extra mile in order to make their money back and multiplatform launch is the answer to that. Exclusivity take a huge cut of their potential sales. Even SE admitted that it was a mistake to make FF16 a timed exclusive on PS5. It’s the same reason why Sony suddenly decided that it is okay for Helldivers 2 to launch on Xbox.

I've been using devmode for years and I've never been able to get this piece of shit to work. I exclusively use XBSX2, Dolphin, PPSSPP, Flycast and Supermodel as standalone emulators. Total multisystem emulator death.
