Why isn't there any hype for the Switch 2 anymore? No one ever talks about it and they are just gathering on store shelves now.

the switch 2 doesnt have the novelty of the switch1, so it will have to prove itself with its library, which is lacking so far.

Because Nintendo pulled a classic Nintendo and gave us another underpowered tablet with joycons that still drift. Combine that with the fact that there's barely any worthwhile exclusives at launch-how many times can they resell Mario Kart 8? People were hyped back in the announcement phase thinking they’d finally push next-gen performance, but nope, just another "good enough" console relying on nostalgia. Everyone moved on to their Steam Decks or just waiting for something meaningful instead of another lazy port machine.

Four big reasons:
>they fucked around with Mario Kart too hard, at least for the majority who don't have big coordinated friend groups or people to readily play couch co-op with, in a bid to copy BotW's acclaim for going open world
>they haven't had a general Direct since the system's release three months ago
>a lot of what's been the docket for first-parties so far are spinoffs and Switch 1 leftovers (crossgen games and S2 Edition DLCs)
>jumping to $70-$80 for games is a bigger ask, especially when the Switch 1's userbase was heavily comprised of fairweather/newcomer fans and when they've positioned themselves as the budget-friendly family-accessible platform for 20 years now (inb4 faggot anons try to argue this by cherrypicking pro console prices and boutique UMPCs to make Switch 2 look way friendlier than they really are) no the bundle didn't fucking make Mario Kart World $50, it made the Switch 2 $420

It's not going to be a flop and anyone who says otherwise is a retard or a (You)farming retard. But it has every chance of being massively frontloaded and weaker on the software sales front like the PS5. The first general Direct is going to give some general idea of what the S2's medium-term trajectory looks like. It still not having happened yet is itself already being noted by people.

Probably gonna be waiting a good while on most of the IPs people care about due to how badly Nintendo's devtimes have started to balloon. MAYBE the 3D Mario team might have something to show soon for the Mario anniversary if Bananza was indeed not an all-hands-on-deck type of affair.
