You're replaying MGS1 in 2025, which do you choose?

People say the cutscenes look retarded in twin snakes but they looked stupid in exactly the same way as every kojima cutscene since mgs 2.

Nope MGS2 doesn't have people flipping to get over doors or bullet time bullshit

I mean, no it doesn't. Unless you're playing on a CRT, in which case sure.

Yes, there's the problem. MGS is not MGS2. It doesn't matter what they did in MGS2. Backporting retardation from 2 into 1 is not acceptable.

eh not really. non freak characters in 2 are bound by grounded stunt choreography for the most part, there's some bullshit but it's the type that would exist in any action movie not matrix superpowers.
3 definitely ups the ante but the only thing that's in the ballpark of twinsnakes is eva's motorcycle, normal human characters still aren't flipping all over the place unaided.

Literally the worst imaginable way to play MGS1, there's an argument to be made for playing mgs2 and 3 on the MC collection. But there's just no reason to play that awful version of MGS1.

why did so many of these old ps1 games have "wall" segments? what i mean by that, is a random sudden difficult spike dictated entirely by a single mechanic you never need to engage in this one particular and artificially difficult way? i'm talking about when snake gets the prisoner out of jail and you have to shoot like 30 dudes in a row without being able to move.

Bottom is pretty badass, but even with those augmentations, there is still some slight inherent wiggle to the polygons. MGS1 needs either a competent port or a decompilation to fully eliminate wiggle.

Nearest-Neighbor is closest to what original hardware put out, but ironically enough on an LCD panel Bilinear scaling is probably closer to what nearest-neighbor actually looked like on TVs

Wrong.
The setup and balance is all wrong.
Snake is always the "regular guy", fighting off "freaks", coming on top simply because of his guts and wits.

In TS, he himself moves like an ADHD cyborg ninja, with anger management issues to boot.
