I'm new to this game and genre, it's been pretty fun and addicting. Reached act 3 on nightmare. I guess it's a good type of game to play and kind of mindlessly progress when you're bored of everything else and there's not much to play.

Diablo 1 maybe if you're into like hardcore nostalgic pc gaming but diablo 2 is a totally different game

It's the most RPG of the series. It's scary in a claustrophobic way. You are always on the disadvantage. It's all about patience and positioning yourself wisely. Diablo 2 is a mindless Action RPG slop.

To answer your question, yes. Diablo 1 is an actual RPG than an Action RPG which became the norm in D2.

But only if you're a zesty zoomer who's never played any of the games in the franchise before. I always kick ass in D1, no matter the class. It's much easier than D2 in that regard, actually.
