I hate flying. But I like hotels and traveling within my country. Don't really like flying to other countries, although I have some good memories in Greece of all places when I was a kid.

the happy couples and the young cute girls seal it for me. it's like a torture watching them having fun while i just pretend to.

I got 2000+ hours in EU4 and CK2, going to Vienna and visiting the imperial treasury and other museums was one of the best events in my life

Not everyone is going to enjoy the same things for vacation, you have to do something you actually want to do instead doing the standard and expecting a good time.

i've been traumatized, so to speak, by my parents into hating vacations. you HAD to wake up early and do this, go there, everything was on a schedule in order to maximize the activities done in the short span of time you had available, to get back your money spent with each second. relax was out of the question, if you dared to suggest staying in the hotel for one entire day without visiting at least 10 museums, 12 art galleries, 6 statues and 9 parks you would've gotten eaten alive.

It's not even financials that I get hung up on. It's Fun Per Hour, FPH. There's no fun packing, airporting, checking in, then having to do that. There's nothing I'd want to do or see for longer than a day. Meanwhile, instead of all that I could just read and paint minis.

Traveling is not really that fun in the moment desu. But it tends to be memorable. Even the shitty experiences are fun to reminisce about later. It also helps break up the daily monotony and it gives you stuff to talk about

I'm a NEET currently so a vacation sounds nice, but when I'm a wageslave fuck traveling. i want my days off to be spent not lifting a fucking finger further than to my controller

Not in the slightest. Both help each other.
I love vidya but they're a "chill" type of fun for me.
Every so often, I just need to let it all out with some kind of "energetic" kind of fun aka vacations or parties. So I go out and see and do stuff and meet people, and then afterwards I go back to my good old home and vidya.
