Funny that people bitch about anything resembling Uncharted or the like when we haven't had an Uncharted game since 2017, or a proper mainline title since 2016. The last Grand Theft Auto was 2013. Mafia III was 2016, and the remake of the first game + The Old Country go for different vibes. Sleeping Dogs was 2012. Watch Dogs Legion was 2020, and The Last of Us 2 was 2020, but that mostly stayed fresh in people's heads with the TV series and remasters. Everybody memory holed Mindseye, and Cyberpunk and Far Cry aren't really anything like what this is going for.
The fucked up thing is that for as many people seem to feel like they've been utterly inundated and drowned out by these games - the majority of the releases of their type haven't happened for the better part of a decade besides a couple specific, dedicated games, if we're discounting open world titles that mix a bunch of different shit together, and even with that in the fray you still don't get much for third person cinematic shooter action shit that actually lands. Everything went souls-like, first person and/or Ubisoft open world besides a couple holdouts.
