Valve sounds evil the more you look into them.
Valve screwed over the Artifact fanbase by cancelling the Artifact 2.0 beta without even allowing users to invite friends like they said they would in January 2021 and does not deserve your financial support for these gross consumer-unfriendly practices.

Psychological horror has to shake human’s heart deeply. Shaking people’s heart deeply means uncover people’s core emotion and their core motivation for life. Everybody is thinking and concerning about sex and death. Everything. If we want to scare, shake, or touch the users or spectators, then we have to think about sex and death deeply.

This. Nobody has the balls go for such a form of horror anymore because it isnt for everyone and those it isnt for will be very vocal about that
>>719734723 >and those it isnt for will be very vocal about that
No, it's because it wouldn't make money. Art used to mean something. Now no one cares about anything but making more money than the poor fuck next to you.

Well yes but that is part of what I was saying. It is more of a cultural thing where shocking art is no longer acceptable. It will flop because so many people would work to make it flop. Credit card providers can prevent purchases, consoles can prevent it from entering its marketplace. The ESRB giving an AO rating alone prevents it from being on console and sold in stores. Not to mention even if it saw a release somehow a crowd of offended people will rally and fight it. Anyone whos name is tied to such a project will be dragged though the mud and may never make another game again. It's too risky to make actually bold art now.

"Elicit a homophobic response" is insane
I could understand discomfort and disgust but homophobic?
Also I guarantee this creature would have been insanely popular lol

Most male use of rape in horror like Alien or Bloodborne or Outlast 2 really doesn't hit the right way, because it is too focused on just the feeling of being disrespected as the real centerpoint, and doesn't really capture the larger scope of the act and the victim's psychological takeaway.

Deeply horrifying
