Finally beat this game and I wanted to see how a thread would go for it. That final stretch is genuinely brutal and the final boss a fucking contender for some kind of difficulty list. I'm kinda surprised nobody talks about how fucking long this game goes for.

Nice to play a game for once where the protags decide that no, this will not do, and they achieve the happiest possible ending they could get.

Anyhow, none of that matters, I wanna know, team Kuro or team Shiro?

Really? I had no issues with either. Was playing hell.
Granted, i did all-stars first and had basically minmaxed my build to pretty much fulminate half of the hero team in the strike, but i still don't think the final boss and dungeon were too hard. But yes, i very much enjoyed it, amazing game.
I liked both, i pretty much like everyone in the game. But i think i liked Kuro a bit better. If only because i really liked her scene in the inn during chapter 4 i believe.
Favorite song? This game made me realize that i actually enjoy miku and vocaloid quite a lot.

I was getting two shot by those cells and basically instadying if the bacteria touched me. What's the advice there? Kinda curious cause I wanna go for a Hell run down the road.

The OST is definitely going to stick with me. I know some of it is open domain stuff but I want to know more about the history of the game. Fourteen years to get to what we got, right? Its honestly kinda weird how there's little information on it on the western internet. I can't traverse Eastern internet but I saw there's a couple mods, including one where you play as Fate Arthur.

Even on hard you shouldn't be getting two-shot if you don't neglect your defense.
The best way to play is with Cicada Shell and Berserk, you get two-shot but in exchange you deal x3 damage and can burst down bosses in 30 seconds, and you can just leave the screen and enter it again to reset the shield.

Seriously, that's the advice. Hell and onward, Berserker is almost obligatory if you don't want the game to drag on forever. As the other anon says, cicada shell + berserker is basically your bread and butter, just don't get hit. The faster something dies, the sooner the fight will be over.
But yeah, some encounters WILL make you cry, like the three robots + the tank. That shit made me almost throw my controller out of rage.

I thought the twist that the world is flat because it's a giant platform raised off the true earth was cool. A lot of other flat world settings have it magically floating in space or an abyss or something so having a more logical reason for why it's flat was unexpected

i played magic build with some holy rod that makes lots of light ricocheting spheres, if i go meele - enemies oneshotting me, on some high difficulty

There are at least four different sources of healing in the game.

Keizo will have to hire people if he doesn't want to spend another 15 years OMA, but he likely made quite a bit of cash and he has a chink publisher. If I had to ghostwrite, the sequel will have MC and bakery girl visit the various islands on the reunited planet in order to help them against the aliens, then find a way to beat them for good.
As for the playable characters, he'd just let players swap between either character at a save point, or a Castlevania PoR style real-time character swapping. Though the power scaling will already be insane if they start off as they currently are at the end of Gaiden, since being able to kill gods is apparently barely enough to fight aliens.

Its funny when you think about it but very rarely do you actually see the childhood friend (even if we are stretching that very loosely here) wins the protag. Only for you want to probably want the gals to have a chance at winning, too.

I'm going to start the DLC soon so I'm kinda curious about what the fuck this girl was doing. I saw some reviews under the DLC being very divisive about her but I'm not exactly surprised in the setting and premise that it probably generated a couple of insanely powerful characters.

Also I genuinely wonder if Keizo would maintain the action RPG or do something different?

My genuine recommendation is to hold off on playing the gaiden until you're suffering from severe astlibra withdrawal as it's a little awkward to hop right back into it.

Gaiden's plot has Al-Khamis try to find the god of Life and Death to revive her, and Liselotte, knowing that he'll job, sends the baker's daughter to help him. In the end, the baker's daughter is victorious and the god grants Al-Khamis' wish of bringing his waifu Astraea back, while Liselotte grants bakery girl's wish by helping her become friends with the guild.

Final boss is far less annoying than the 8th chapter boss in postscript. The white angel looking motherfucker in the garden. He's smaller than the final boss, so summons don't do their full damage, and he creates jets of high damaging fire to boost around that can shred through your health while you're wailing on him.
