I still return to my age old favorites year after year even if a newer game happens to catch my interest. Phantasy star online 1 continues to be a game that will pull me back in until the day I die.

anyway for the OP, just beat Demon's Souls for the first time. It wasn't too bad, the most times I died on anything was probably the giant goblins in the swamps, no bosses really gave me that much grief. It's a neat game and I can see why people like it but a lot of the design is pretty dickish and I strongly suspect a lot of the acclaimed difficulty is really just poor design, like how horrible the lock on camera is or how some enemies can animation cancel out of shit randomly (the red eyed lance knights good lord)

I started with barbarian but restarted a few hours in to mess with other classes, ended up sticking with royalty which I suspect is basically ez mode but holy shit, magic is INSANELY useful and I strongly believe certain parts of the game were designed with it in mind. The cliffs with the golden skeletons with gigantic, overlapping blade attacks you can't interrupt? I'm sure they weren't vulnerable to magic for no reason

I just finished Sherlock Holmes The Awakened yesterday. I liked it for the most part. Nice blending of old school point and click games with a more modern adventure style. Hated the last couple of levels, not sure why they thought introducing the perpetrator right at the end with no prior build-up or foreshadowing was a good idea.

I was sort of interested in E33 after seeing the first reveal but then became less interested when I learned it had parrying as a core mechanic. I bought it after release though.
