Why did they lie to us about Star Fox Zero
Okay, I just got done playing this game, and it's fucking incredible. Everything about it is good. The scoring system and difficulty is just right. The cockpit Gamepad controls are innovative and intuitive. It's literally the best Star Fox game, and possibly the best Wii U game. But I can't help but remember, there was this MASSIVE shitstorm from the gaming press where they all gave it poor reviews, what was that about? I'm telling you, anyone who says this is a bad game is lying or completely fucking braindead retarded. This will go down to posterity when people revisit the game in the coming years as the biggest miss of the gaming media by far. It's kino. I think the gaming press is just jewish and hates Nintendo so when they smelled blood in the water over concerns about the game they pounced, but it couldn't be more obvious to me that the fudding of the game and of the Wii U console in general was total astroturfed bullshit.

The controls filtered everyone, but the game is immaculate.

Journos can't play vidya, much less vidya that uses two screens at all times.
You gotta admit that the final boss was shit tho.
I'll defend every part of SF0 except that.

Should have released on Switch instead, at least here the shitters wouldn't be able to cry about the second screen.

I'm a big proponent of the WiiU gamepad and even I think the level of multitasking Starfox 0 asks of you is too much.
You're supposed to fly the ship and aim at the same time when they take place on totally different screens.
You have NO sense of where you are when you are steering the ship, when aiming on the bottom screen, it's incredibly zoomed in so you can only see what the gun is pointed at. And the top screen where you can orient yourself has an intentionally useless reticle that can at absolute most kinda help you have an idea of a general area you're sending shots but can't help you hit precise targets.

If the gamepad screen didn't have a horrible FOV and the top screen had a usable reticle it'd be a perfectly good game though

I just never had this experience of having "no sense of where you are when steering". I recall figuring it out nicely in the tutorial at the beginning of the game, and then never having any issue from then on.

Why does everyone who defends the game exaggerate how good it is? The majority of the game is missions in all range mode. The Gyro Wing kills the pacing. The Gravmaster is redundant. It's yet another retelling so you go to mostly the same planets in the Lylat system. There are less branching routes and alternate paths. There's only one ending and no multiplayer resulting in almost no unlockables outside the Arwing skins which you can get with amiibo. Visually it's the worst looking of the modern games.

Genuinely I can hold onto it for most of the playthrough but no, I simply can't say you can get through an entire playthrough of 0 without eventually experiencing complete and total disorient. The all range space battle in particular is just the failing of the mechanics on full display. You very much need more ability to steer while looking at the bottom screen and aim while looking at the top screen

miyamoto needs to stop prioritizing retarded gimmicks and just make a decent first party game

I've always liked it, but I also know who or whatever started this thread probably doesn't really care that much for it and is just looking to argue.

Nah 64 is better. Zero is slow and looks terrible, so an honorable homage to the original but also it’s just way too easy

You only look at the second screen to be more precise, and you can swap screens on the TV with one button press too.
Anonymous No.719741117 >>719741532
>>719741024
Nope. The reticle on the top screen does not actually show the top screen what it's pointing at. The top screen sees the fucking reticle AT AN ANGLE and you HAVE to look at the bottom screen for any precision you dishonest retard
Anonymous No.719741532 >>719742537
>>719741117
NTA but that's completely false, you can aim perfectly with the third person view, literal skill issue here. And even if you think it's too difficult, switch to first person on the TV and you can aim more precisely.
You would get decimated if you tried to play Sin & Punishment.

It's a piece of shit.
Star Fox is at its best in high pace on rails section.
All range mode should be used sparingly and more for bosses than stages.
You should not be able to stop so fuck any sections on foot or on chicken walker etc.
Nintendo or devs working on the series have failed to deliver every time after SF64.

64 was fun because it was quick, simple, and you can play it in bites at a time, or finish it in one sitting.

Post a video or screenshot of the top screen and prove that I'm not right. The reticle is literally viewed at an angle on the top screen and is only useful for a general direction your shots will be going, nothing precise.

>The reticle is literally viewed at an angle on the top screen and is only useful for a general direction your shots will be going, nothing precise
And? That's more than enough. The reticle wasn't precise either in the original or 64, and you couldn't even aim with motion control to help. Just shoot in the direction of the enemy and you hit, it's not that difficult.

This is the kind of shit I'm talking about. People are just insane and will make any retarded argument against the game. It's not even your own thoughts either, it's the thoughts of a journalist jew that were literally hand placed inside your brain.
Anonymous No.719743427 >>719749712
Lol you know why it failed. Trust your instincts, you know it to be true.
Anonymous No.719743608
The game gimping your fucking reticle so that you almost need to aim in cockpit mode is gay as fuck, but being able move around and aim independently is a really neat innovation for the series. The othee main issue is that it's a fucking Star Fox 64 retread again. There are some kino moments like fighting Wolf in the snow.

I liked it back in 2016 and 100% it but it’s not better than 64. The Walker missions are kinda mediocre and the bosses could’ve used some work. Honestly, it’s in the upper half of Platinum’s works which isn’t saying much but I liked it more than Wonderful 101, Bayonetta 3, Astral Chain, and Babylon’s Fall. Too bad I can’t replay it cause my Gamepad’s battery is so shit now, it only a lasts 5 minutes and I don’t wanna play this game with a cord in it.
