Being realistic, how much would a new steam box cost, if it has the same power as a PS5?

you know how you can play couch coop games online using steam? because they stream video to the other player?
you will be able to stream game from your pc to your steam frame from everywhere making steam deck clones obsolete. thats why they dont plan on making steam deck 2.

Honestly I want to try SteamOS.
Linux and all that shit is too inconvenient and useless, and windows can't do a day without a slimy jeet update bricking something. If SteamOS can also run shit like word and mspaint then I'm sold.

So, this will incorporate
Steam Controller 2
Steam Index 2
Steam Index Controllers 2
Steam Deck 2
Steam Deck 2 Dock
Given that Valve said that Fremont is just an early experiment which doesn't mean public release and that they're focused on handhelds, does this mean that Valve will just use the Fremont to help make the Deck 2's dock more similar to the Switch 2's dock given that Valve said that the Steam Deck dock already checks the box of a set top box under the TV?

This part we don't know, Fremont is just experimental hardware in early development that Valve isn't all that serious about, yet. They could cancel that and just use what they learned from it for an improved Steam Deck 2 dock though.

i hope not, i'd love to have a console-like device to play vidya in my bedroom but fuck owning consoles, they're so locked down and restricted in what you can do and so jewishly designed to lock basic features behind paywalls.

Don’t care. Finish Artifact Foundry.

Valve screwed over the Artifact fanbase by cancelling the Artifact 2.0 beta without even allowing users to invite friends like they said they would in January 2021 and does not deserve your financial support for these gross consumer-unfriendly practices.

I think Steam Frame is related to Deckard, meaning it IS Deckard. Deckard's existence is important to Steam Deck 2's existence. If this was canceled, thankfully, it's not, it would have meant Steam Deck 2 was canceled. Going by rumors of some known Valve insider, the plan is Steam Deck (we already got this), Deckard, SteamOS 4/5, Steam Controller 2 is coming somewhere between this stuff, and Steam Deck 2 (the big one). Fremont is so early in development that it may or may not come. That mainly depends on if it's on Valve's radar. Valve is probably looking into how things are going with Sony's PS6, Microsoft's Xbox next, while looking at the success of Nintendo's Switch 2 to see if a TV-only box is worth it.
Anonymous No.719750156
>>719749960
i think it's the best possible time for them to do it just because consoles are probably worse than ever and there are still people who want that particular experience but don't want to have to deal with the big 3's various shortcomings. it's a tremendous value being able to do whatever you want with a box vs dealing with all the walled garden app bullshit.

Anonymous No.719750719

Also, the Fremont is something that's way off, like not even 2028, meaning it's something that could happen or Valve just may do with it like they did with their other projects and drop it. Steam Frame (Deckard), Steam Controller 2 (Ibex), and Steam Deck 2 seem to be the projects they're most interested in along with Half-Life 3 (HLX).

Anonymous No.719751850

they never really did it though, they partnered with some manufacturers and did a few limited runs. and that was also before they really perfected the big picture OS. consoles were in a really good place back then so it was more of them considering joining that race vs today where they have way more leverage over console manufacturers and their dated ideas.
