It is THE absolutely worst, THE most butchered version of P3 out there.

It's censored, visually butchered, and literally CUTS OUT content. The mid-00s emo vibe and anime cutscenes are all gone, and everything is replaced with this pastel-y Unreal engine slop and some literal woke-projection.

Hell, even the game's main THEME, the whole "Memento mori, ya mortal fucker!", is practically swept under to the rug in order to not "trigger" snowflakes. Many deaths now happen off screen too.

Last but not least: Ace DEFECTIVE was removed.

FES is different in one meaningful way, and that's AI party members.
But the only thing different about that is that you build your Persona to cover their bad behavior. You're fighting against the enemy and your team.

The thing I liked about P3 was how the party members made their own decisions. They weren't always the best but they were fairly predictable and they gave your party members character and unique personalities. It grounded you in your role as the leader but also a part of a group, not the whole of it. After they changed that the games feel like you're playing as some eye in the sky. That's why the remake sucks.

I greatly prefer Reload for it's visuals and music.
The only things that really matter in Persona games.
Persona combat is not the main focus, it's pathetically easy compared to other Atlus RPGs.

I played FES on PS2 release, and played P3P on Vita.
FES still holds no special place of nostalgia for me. I like the game, but Reload was a MUCH fucking better way to experience the game.

Yeah, that's kinda why I don't mind Atlus remaking their games because it allows people who might be at bit weary or on the fence about playing the originals at least experience them. Plus, if they find out they really like them, they'll prolly play the originals. In fact, I would wager a lot of people played fes as a result of having played Reload, either of out sheer curiosity or because they wanted to see if it really was better like everyone was telling them.
