That wasn't the point of the steam deck. The point was to make linux a viable competitor so if windows ever went full retard (like they are now) Steam doesn't have to worry about getting yeeted from "muh walled garden ecosystem"
If I'm not mistaken, Steam actually takes a loss on the deck.
Solid strategy, good move all around.
Wouldn't be surprised if they become a linux distro hub or create a git hub equivalent in the future.
