Idk about "fishing game" but Dark Cloud 2 had a fun fishing minigame. There's also fishing competitions and fish racing. You can alter the fishes stats and iirc breed the fish together to make different fish.
You have to catch fish to make your pole stronger though, if you don't like the grind then it may not be for you.
