Single player games especially tend to have price fall after a while because they're a lot harder to keep relevant without an organic fanbase continuously driving engagement, like Skyrim or Stardew Valley with their modding scenes.

But anyway, Hogwarts Legacy sold over 30 million units which makes it an all-time best seller by any measuring stick.

People bought it because it's a Harry Potter game you absolute dolt. It's only one of the most popular IPs in the world. The game had a very low bar to get over in order to be a success, and it managed it with room to spare. Without the Harry Potter IP I doubt it would've sold half as much.

I put 90 hours into the game and I would say nah. It's pretty pozzed. Like to a ridiculous degree. I already 100%'d the game so I have no real desire to go back through it so soon, maybe in a few years, but if I do I'm modding the crap out of it to remove all the darkies cause holy shit they nigged up 19th century Britain. I think less than a third of the student body and faculty at Hogwarts are actually British.

put 35 hours in, journal at 83% completion. once you ignore the heavy pandering at times, it is a game that is quite fucking fun and has a lot of charm. i think other open world games like AC, etc. do exploration better for sure but there is still a lot of charm in the game.

i liked being able to download mods directly inside the game, has everything i'd ever need. well i guess if you want race mods and shit you'd need to look elsewhere lel

A lot of games go for cheap years down the line. In fact a lot of them end up bundles a lot like Monster Hunter. Only the impatient buy games at full price. Strangely the only ones that don't fluctuate as much and get deep discounts are certain indie games. RimWorld 20% off is like the highest it ever seems to get. Factorio even increased in price and hasn't had a discount in over 2 years. Weird how nobody brings up the indie who refuse to drop their games price or rarely does any bigger than 50%.
