I refuse to believe that there are people out there who genuinely get fucking FILTERED by one of the easiest """"time limits"""" ever put into a game.

I just exercise extreme caution because I hate when my lil guys die.

This game is the fucking goat. If you prefer 2 I kind of understand but prefering 3 or 4 is JUST fucking insane it blows my mind

I'm playing Pikmin 2 now. Does the game end once you reach 10000 coins?

Games are supposed to be recreational, enjoyable. Time management is not fun.

Simple as.

I didn't get filtered but I didn't enjoy the time limit, it stressed me out in a bad way just like Majora's Mask did.

I got to like 80% of the way through Pikmin 1, realised I'd fucked myself, restarted and beat and it was a lot more relaxing the second run through. I get what devs are going for when they put time limits in games, but I just don't like them, I don't think they pay off well it's more like "Thank fuck that's over, ugh...".

This game gets better the more you master it. It’s like an entirely different game.

It was rough as kid. Seeing their souls leave their bodies was a bit unsettling, especially if I majorly fucked up and lost dozens at a time. It led me to taking only a couple and then feeling like I lost my top squad of they died. I didn't like being responsible for the little guys dying, especially if they cry when it happens.

I love the time limit. I love a sense of pressure like this. It's also why I enjoyed Dead Rising.

Pikmin 1 is a perfectly condensed little experience about time management and I thoroughly love it. I would enjoy more in that same structure.

In hindsight maybe, but at the time it felt like I was just leading them to certain doom in the end levels. The one after the super dark level, with all the water, was a struggle and that's where I stopped im pretty sure.

I remember getting Pikmin 1 for my birthday as a kid. Had a couple bros sleep over, and we took turns playing all night. My Mom came down at around 11:30 and told us no more gaming for the night, and we pretended to go to sleep. We started playing again after midnight, and when she came down to yell at us, I hit her with the "you said no more gaming last night. It's the next morning now.".

Pikmin 1 is still the best. I miss when games would innately trust the player. It's night and day with Pikmin 4, which spoon feeds you instructions telling you what to do for the whole game including during thE FINAL FUCKING BOSS

I defeated the Smokey Progg and was so pleased with that I refused to go back to a previous day within a manageable limit and thus did not have enough time to make all the bridges in the cave with the giant spiderbot to get the treasures there.

Just made me realized that the Pikmin are just like the clones in Star Wars. As a kid I exclusively played clones cause I didn't like killing or seeing them killed. I know TCW flip flops as a early teen/young adult show but some of the brutal ways clones get killed I can't help but feel terribly bad. Being reminded some of the horrible ways the Pikmin died like getting electrocuted and there's nothing you could do, along with their death sounds, really was unsettling as a kid and lead me to play mega conservatively. I played this game when I was in middle school and I got lost and filtered by it when I rented the game. Never played pikmin again after that. Sort of bugs me maybe I need to try again now.

i've gone out of my way to clear all pikmin games with no deaths on my first run for this very reason. having to figure out safe ways to kill monsters or even soloing smaller nuisances with the captains (only really possible in 1 and 2 though) was occasionally frustrating, but also felt immensely rewarding. seeing 0 deaths at the end of every game felt fucking great
