007 SWITCH 2 is.. Game key card
Argh this sucks...
Picked up Hitman on Switch 2, ran well it was annoying that it was GKC but whatver
But this too..?

Switch 2 has to have the ugliest damn box art layout. Between the GIANT red stripe on top and then the fucking key-card stripe on the bottom, it just squeezes the actual box art into being so much smaller than it needs to be.
>>719768415 (OP)
those fucking retards, this shit is so fucking baffling, they could print money easily if they just took a preexisting game for crying out loud and ported it to the Switch 2 for full price during this launch year.
like Mass Effect Trilogy Remaster, on Switch 2 in 2025 it could easily make bank fully on cartridge for $70, so what are these publishers fucking thinking

They want the best profit margins possible. Nothing will change unless Nintendo's able to curb the cost of their bigger storage cartridges somehow. And game key cards not selling wouldn't mean that they'd include full cartridges next time, it would mean that they wouldn't bother porting games to Switch 2 in the future.

THATS INSANE

Even when games aren't GKCs if they're a Switch 2 Edition of a Switch game they still put a bunch of unnecessary legalese at the bottom. Heard they've done this with one of the Switch 1 pokemon releases as well.

It's because the console is portable (hybrid) that I solely buy digital, shit is less cumbersome that way, I only bother with a physical release once in a blue moon
Also the majority of the Switch games get at least one update, and there are many such as Muse Dash that keep receiving patches

Hell today gamers demand "updates" and "additional content", if you don't its seen as a failure.

I've been afraid to give my thoughts on this game after giving the gameplay showcase that popped up in my recommended a try.
But are the Hitman games sort of "puzzley" in the sense of "figure out how to complete your objective, and solve certain problems with a set amount of gadgets and contexts. As this game seems to be? I've always leaned more towards the "stealth" games that are closer to (but not exactly like) a puzzle game. But the only one I've found that does this while being still skill based is the last of us, hence part of why I didnt want to mention liking the games showcase of this game, because it gave me some Uncharted and TLOU vibes. Even though I dont like Uncharted.
Let me clarify some things. I've always had an idea of what Hitman was. What put me off of it, is the whole "DO SO MANY WACKY THINGS IN SO MANY WACKY WAYS". Because having played imsims (not a real genre, and also the most shallow stealth games ever) One persistent, consistent, underlying flaw of all of them. Is the redundancy of multiple options, where you can literally "solve" a problem (generally relatively simply, just use the ability you have) and then literally stumble upon 3 different solutions right after while trying to explore thoroughly, and now those solutions occupy wasted space of the level that can often lead you right back to where youve already been since you literally already solved the problem.
Another problem that arises from this is that if you happened to pick the easier solution, now youve missed out on the satisfaction of the harder solution, and vice versa, if you happened to pick out the harder solution, seeing how much work you put in, when you come across the easier solution, it can just look silly to see how simple the actual set up is, which sets the precedent for the future that your harder solution doesnt really matter, because the problem isnt as meaningfully complicated as it seemed when you thought up a novel feeling solution.

I still don't get why people care so much. the point of a card is that you can sell it and the key card allows that, what other benefit is there? It just seems like a circlejerk.

physical is pointless for most modern games since they get so many updates and require servers for online shit. at best, a physical copy will basically play a gimped beta version of the game in the future

Does Hitman have that same flaw? Part of the reason I asked if the stealth is more puzzley in Hitman, is because I've found that a game like TLOU1 and 2 can perfectly give you a breadth of options and make every single one feel meaningful, and like youre never wasting anything or coming across redundancy. Because of a number of mechanics that not only make problems more tense, engagement with enemies deeper, traversal and enviromental interactions more spatial awareness demanding (meaning certain tools are highly important for covering space you are aware of but cannot cover yourself)
Or is Hitman just like every Immersive Sim that is the definition of wide as an ocean, deep as a puddle. Except, thats a bit deceptive, since Imsims are actually more like wide as a Lake, deep as a Kids version of the deepend.

Hardly anyone even sells their games, Nintendo consoles have a MASSIVE attach rate, and what game-key cards are is a loss of convenience of digital, and a loss of physical in earnest. You have to go out and buy the game, then you have to download the whole game, and you might even have to buy an expensive storage medium to top it off too.
The CRAZIEST aspect to me, is that Nintendo this generation solved digital anyway with virtual game cards, you can loan out your digital games to people. Literally take that one step further and allow you to sell them to others, and then what the fuck is the point of a game-key card EVER.

As I got older I stopped caring. I have accepted that I will die some day and "being able to play a game forever" is just a laughable thing to concern yourself with.
The Xbox 360 is still online and you can still get updates and everything works. I was playing it earlier today. Will anybody care if in 20 years from now the Switch 2 goes offline? How many people are using older consoles the proper way now? I've gotta be a minority. Anybody who cares about this shit has hacked it and whatnot.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the red banner either. It's too big. The switch 1 cases were more subtle, just a small icon at the top left and that's it. I'm also not a fan of the red cases compared to the white/transparent switch ones.
