>Complains about downloadable games on cartridges/discs
>Praises digital only stores like Steam

What's the catch here?

PC you can burn the games to bluray

You have possession of the game files and most if not all steamworka DRM games can be cracked with Goldberg emu instantly

Steam gets a free pass because they are actually one of the most helpful companies to the pirate community.

Without steam, steamrip, gog games and scene groups would be 10x harder to get clean files to share.

Steam doesn't give a shit and are not concerned with piracy. Because they know their platform is more about the ecosystem and unironic social media aspect of profiles. Paypigs will buy games to keep the numbers going up on their steam profile and to feel good about themselves.

Me I will never pay for games. Though my lutris library is 1000+ right now, I barely use steam.

Also when steam gets that 30% cut and micro transactions as well as the millions from other fees like game listings they don't care about anything else. Its literally not their problem anymore.

Gabe didn't put the slightest resistance against Mastercard and Visa and it's going to cause a ripple effect. Steam is the enemy, and I'm tired of pretending it's not.

Gaben is predictable, he just wants money and PC dominance over the market.

This is clear with the deck that they are willing to go so out of their way, lose money on the console during the pandemic AND work heavily to develop Linux to prevent Microsoft from coming close to their territory on the PC gaming market.

Its clear they want to keep their PC market and have no one disrupt them. Pirates barely effect them because paypigs and sales will always give them money. Its like asking why someone goes to McDonalds instead of cooking hamburger helper at home. Both taste equally good and are equally filling but one tastes better and has more satisfaction with the fries and the soda.

Pirates aren't that big of a problem maybe 10-25k per big game. 1000-1500 per indie game.
