It's not even the most depressing shit in that game, nvm all of GTA. Michael let dudes literally pound out his wife on the daily. He only ups and does something about it this time because of Franklin...otherwise he would've went right back to putting his shades on, drinking, and watching old movies. Franklin pretty much puts the battery back into Michael's back and is the main reason why all the events in the game even kicks off in GTA V. Reminds me of that movie with Ben Affleck where his wife is sucking and fucking everything under the sun and the dude just takes it with a smile.

He's a character in a video game. He was designed to be partially believable as a person. I don't think Trevor saying nigger would not improve his character, so he shouldn't say it. Rockstar did not set out to create the most edgy, subversive plank of wood of all time. They made a character

I think if he was more grounded he'd be more interesting. The unpredictable psychopath isn't that great of a main character. Him killing the meth head and killing him is fine and good introduction to who he is and put him on the path of what his original goal before finding out about michael. But him invading on the cuck cousin and killing him and his bitchy wife served no real story purpose other than having a new meet place.

That was actually the best part of the story IMO. Everything was so boring and by the numbers until shit like that started happening it was almost lynchian. I also didn't like the Johnny part because it was really out of character for Johnny to go down like that.

If you were alive at the time, a lot of people were sick of the west coast choppers fad. I think R* was embarrassed they got sucked in it, that things was redemption.

I just replayed through gta 5 and honestly it seems like everything escalates too fast, the story is a lot shorter than I remember. Splitting into three characters just makes all of them feel incomplete stories especially Franklin who is as interesting as a wet paper bag.

Probably yes. I know a lot of people will just hate on Johnny for getting back with Ashley but I honestly kind of understand and can relate. He clearly tried multiple times to get away from her but he just always ended up coming back to her because he loved her too much. My guess is they wanted a shocking introduction for Trevor but didn't want the majority of players to hate him right out of the gate, so they went with the least popular of 4's protagonists. I was less bothered by the fact that Johnny died than I was about the fact that they did a total 180 on the end of TLaD and turned him into a cowardly junkie before giving him a pathetic death. If the game didn't give me the easy option of having all three protagonists survive, I'd have killed Trevor despite being undeniably entertained by his edginess and insanity.
