Silksong won't be bad. But the hype is so condensed that it can get away with being a fine game and it will become and instant 100/10 gaming jesus moment just for not being abysmal dogshit after 7 years of wait.

Just look at Cyberpunk. That game was so overhyped that it literally shit in peoples mouths on launch and they came back to call it a 9/10 game after years of updates because an 7.5/10 anime came out.

Ironically it'll be because of games like Cyberpunk that people rejoice even more, because the game very likely won't release in the buggiest state known to man there will be near to no scrutiny since people will obsess more that the game's working as intended instead of actually being good.

It'll receive nearly unanimous praise from the people that have spent the past 7 years getting hyped but after a few weeks, they'll admit that the game is actually disappointing.

Of course it won't. It's a generic fucking metroidvania. 70% of the people who have been dickriding Hollow Knight all this time haven't even played the game as evidenced by the uptick in player count after Silksong's announcement.

I just want closure, that's all. I won't even care if there's going to be another one after this. 7 fucking years for a sequel to a 2D exploration platformer? The devs just have no sense of urgency. They're good, but they work too goddamn slow.
