I've been gaming at 120 for about a year now, and wish to go back to 60. How do I make 60 not look like choppy shit?

your eyes can't see faster than 30. It makes zero difference gaming beyond that.

The human eye can only see in 20FPS and 720p, just remember this fact and the illusion of high framerates will vanish

It's actually 24, that's why movies are in 24 fps. Duh. 12 in the left, 12 in the right eye.

Play N64 for like a week straight. And no F-zero. Just the games with dogshit fps like LoZ and Perfect Dark. Then when you switch to 60fps it’ll seem really fast.
It’s a fool proof plan, I know. Thank me later.

Never really thought about it, but this makes a lot of sense.
>>719777670
No it can't. Your brain doesn't have NVIDIA frame gen, you can't just see more if your eye is limited. You're biologically bottlenecked.

if you had to choose between 1080p@120fps and 1440p@69fps, which would you choose?

1440p@69fps especially if my native screen is 1440p. 1080p looks terrible on a non 1080p screen.

give a week you'll get used to it
Anonymous No.719779094
play at 30fps for about a week and 60 will look great again - it worked for me

Still, I would play 60 on native resolution, if the game can't do 60 native resolution then I don't play the game.

1440p@60
it looks fine and doesn't push your GPU as hard
and as someone said 1080p looks like shit

You'll get used to it in less than a week
Anonymous No.719780036

or just play at 30 forjke 3-4 days

This. People act like dropping from 120 to 60 is like going back to stone tablets. Give it a few days, your eyes and brain will recalibrate. It’s only jarring at first because you're used to the buttery smooth. Play some janky 30fps games in the meantime and 60 will start looking like a blessing.

You can use lossless scaling 2x frame gen if you dont care ablut input lag. Which it sounds like u dont if your main problem going from 120 to 60 is how it looks

720p @ 180 fps

There's no magic to it, after some time your brain gets used to it and fills in the blanks. Most video content is less than 30 fps, 60 is sometimes available.

Play at 30 for a month first.
