I think it’s mostly result of “oh god, whatever I do looks fucking disgusting” and are left with 3 choices, first being just accept a bad looking (but not too extreme) character, second being to look up a guide on a how to fix it then spend 30 minutes watching a tutorial and changing values 1-by-1, third option being to just say fuck it and push sliders to max or min for each value and create a monster.

It was most prevalent in DaS3, because for some reason character creator is just weird. Everyone looks slimey and bug-eye’d, even if you try create a good looking character they usually end up looking like gross freak. So people just push it as far as it can go.

It’s far less common to see this in Elden Ring, because it usually won’t happen by accident when trying to make a normal looking person.
