How are you meant to get those crazy scores in ante 12+? I managed to get joker up to x8 or something and a joker than mimics it and that got me to 12 to unlock something but I was way off the next one

Why should I have do do that? My build was getting me more than enough points to beat every previous ante. Better question is why the game decided to be a complete fucking cunt and give me something that was literally impossible for be to beat? How is that justifiable? This is the lowest stake and if this level of cuntiness and unjustifiable unfairness is something thats consistent thru the whole game I'm fairly confident in just labeling it as a bad game and moving on.

high stake seeds are only all possible to beat if you know what to expect. i have had several gold stakes runs end in the first ante because i was searching for a single jack for a straight and it never happened. but if i replayed the seed over and over again i might find out theres a 4 of a kind for 3 or a fullhouse for 6 and 9. i don't think thats fair to say most gold stake runs are beatable. that relies on prior knowledge rather than an intuitive understanding of the game

First ante can usually be cleared with flush, it's significantly more consistent to assemble than trying to look for a straight or full house. It might be boring but it works as an ante1 solution.

that post is incorrect because the op joker order doesn't matter. however, if you have a xmult joker, then it should be as far right as possible. if you don't set your jokers up like that, and for example had it on the far left, then you would only multiply your hand +mult.

say you have a x3 mult, a +4 mult, and a +4 mult hand.
if x3 mult was on the far left, it would be 16.
if x3 mult was on the far right, it would be 24 +mult
many jokers are a much bigger gap than this example

I stopped playing balatro because it's just too easy to build 5 of a kind and 5 flush. There's no reason to play anything else even on higher stakes unless you wanna go endless but I don't find endless fun.
